Kabumbi School has a great team of teachers and other support staff – you can learn more about some of the key people here.
The Charity has a small Trustee team and is growing a group of supporters to help with the important work of fundraising to help feed the children.

Trustee & Founder
Jos Razzell
Jos Razzell has been supporting Kabumbi School for five years, helping with fundraising for food, medicine and school furniture.
Jos supports refugees and asylum seekers in the UK with language and literacy learning, and trains facilitators in supporting wellbeing in a range of settings and sectors.
She is passionate about international co-support and is fully committed to supporting the work of the school.

Trustee & Chair and Treasurer
Annette Boehmer
Annette is an insightful and curious senior global finance director with broad, diverse, multi-cultural and multi-lingual experience, including 24 years in a highly regulated, fast-moving corporate environment and five years as board member of a large pension trust.

Annette has a strong Interest in the charitable sector with an aim of combining financial management and global experience to help find sustainable solutions to address poverty, health and nutrition and education related issues
In her free time she loves spending time with her family skiing, hiking, climbing, cycling, doing yoga. You can reach her at aboehmer1@outlook.com.

Trustee
Kirsty Dean
Kirsty Dean is a Trustee of Kabumbi School Charity and an experienced marketing and communications leader.
She is Marketing and Communications Director at Europa Worldwide Group and the Founder of Passion Inc, a marketing consultancy and executive coaching business established in 2012.
A long-standing supporter of international charities, Kirsty has personally donated to several for over 25 years, and Passion Inc is a committed corporate donor to Kabumbi School Charity. She is proud to support Kabumbi Community Junior School in Uganda, helping ensure orphaned and vulnerable children have access to food, essential supplies, and education.

Head Teacher
John Ssali
As the Head teacher of Kabumbi School, John has dedicated his career to ensuring that every child, regardless of background, including orphans and homeless children, have access to quality education.
John works closely with the teachers, learners, and community to create a school environment built on discipline, care, and high expectations. Kabumbi School is more than a place of learning—it is a place of hope. With the continued support of friends, partners, and donors they can expand opportunities for the children and strengthen their impact.

Primary Teacher
Miriam
Miriam grew up believing that education can change not just one life, but an entire community.
At Kabumbi School, she teaches lower primary learners and supports children who are experiencing challenges in reading and writing.
Every day Miriam sees confidence grow where there was once fear. By supporting Kabumbi School, you are helping children gain skills, hope, and a future full of possibility. She warmly invites you to join her in this journey.

Maths Teacher
Elizabeth
As a trained mathematics teacher, Elizabeth’s passion is helping students understand that learning is something they can succeed in.
At Kabumbi School, Elizabeth works with lower primary learners, encouraging problem-solving and discipline. The pupils are eager to learn but need resources and support to reach their full potential. Your involvement—whether through donations, partnerships, or volunteering—helps turn potential into achievement.

Early Childhood Education Teacher
Aisha
Aisha’s background is in early childhood education, and she believes strong foundations shape lifelong learning. At Kabumbi School, Aisha focuses on creating a safe, joyful environment where young children feel valued and confident. Seeing a child learn to read their first word is incredibly rewarding.

Fund Raiser
Emily Dean
Emily is in her second year at UEA where she is studying psychology.

A keen Lacross player, Emily is the social Secretary for the club where she organises fund raising events for Kabumbi School Charity

Emily has travelled extensively through South East Asia and has played Elizabeth in the adaptation of Mary Shelly's Frankinstin at the Edinburgh Fringe
