PE lesson at Kabumbi
Kabumbi Community Junior School
In 2015, John Ssali set out to provide vocational training opportunities for orphaned and destitute children in his local area of Kabumbi. Years later, his project evolved to become a thriving residential and day school offering high quality education to over 360 children aged 3-15 years, of which over 80 are orphaned or otherwise vulnerable and live full time at the school. John Ssali is the the headteacher of the school.
Teachers at the school work tirelessly, sometimes without pay. The children can go hungry when money for regular meals runs out. Despite all these challenges, aspiration and motivation at Kabumbi School remain consistently outstanding.
We established Kabumbi School Orphan Support Charity to help the orphaned children, enabling the school team to continue providing a loving home, nutritious food and outstanding education for some of the most vulnerable children in the world.
We are ideally looking to build a team of people making regular monthly donations. Even a little money donated will go a long way in Uganda, and anything you can do to help will be greatly appreciated.
The Kabumbi area is near Nansana Town and Wakiso District, close to Kampala, Uganda.
