PE lesson at Kabumbi

Kabumbi Community Junior School

In 2015 John Ssali, Kabumbi School headteacher, set out to provide vocational training opportunities for orphaned and destitute children in his local area of Kabumbi. Years later, his project has evolved to become a thriving residential and day school offering high quality education to over 360 children aged 3-15 years, of which over 80 are orphaned or otherwise vulnerable and live full time at the school.

Teachers at the school work tirelessly, sometimes without pay. Sometimes the children have gone hungry when money has run out for regular meals. But despite all these challenges, the level of aspiration and motivation at Kabumbi School has remained consistently outstanding.

Kabumbi School Orphan Support Charity was established to fundraise for the orphaned children, enabling the school team to continue providing a loving home and outstanding education for some of the most vulnerable children in the world.

We are ideally looking to build a team of people making regular monthly donations. Even a little money donated will go a long way in Uganda, and anything you can do to help will be greatly appreciated.

The Kabumbi area is near Nansana Town and Wakiso District, close to Kampala, Uganda.
